Get to know photo folders - add photos to thematically related groups

Folders in Photonesto allow you to group photos in the gallery by theme or date, making organization and viewing easier.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Photonesto is a modern tool for photographers that allows for the quick and convenient creation of professional online galleries and sharing them with clients.

The photo folders feature enables the organization of galleries into clear groups – by theme, event, or the date the shots were taken.

For example, when creating a wedding photo gallery, we can create folders named, for instance, "Ceremony", "Reception", "After-party".

Additionally, after a destination session, it is worth creating a folder named "Destination session" and publishing those shots there.

In a gallery created this way, users can easily navigate to the photos that interest them the most at any given moment.

So, how to create them? In a few simple steps:

1. Adding a photo folder to the gallery

Every created gallery has a default folder named "All photos". To add a new folder, expand the visible list and select "Add a folder", then enter the name.

Changing the folder name

The folder name can be changed at any time. To do this, go to the folder menu by clicking on the name of the currently displayed folder - in this case, "DESTINATION SESSION" - and then select "Change name". In the newly opened window, enter the correct name and confirm.

We can also manage the order of folders – using the "Move up" or "Move down" buttons – as well as delete them (the "Delete" button).

After creating several folders, we recommend deleting the one named "All photos". Since it is a regular folder, it will only display the images uploaded directly to it. Its name can be misleading, as it won't automatically include all photos from the entire gallery unless you manually place them there.

2. Uploading photos and publishing changes

We add photos to the newly created folder. After uploading them, we publish the changes so that the photos are visible to the clients in the gallery.

3. Ready folders in the gallery for the client

In the photo gallery visible to the client, the folder names are displayed next to the gallery name. Clicking on a folder name will display the photos contained within that specific folder.

Summary

Photo folders allow for better gallery organization. They provide the ability to divide shots into groups and enable simple navigation between them. This is a convenient solution for both photographers and viewers - it organizes the gallery and improves the overall experience of viewing the photos.
